Brief Description Weather Advisory
Detailed Description Winter weather travel advisory in effect. Heavy snow expected beginning Monday morning. Hazards: Locally heavy snowfall with total accumulations of 5 to 10 cm. Peak snowfall rates of 3 to 5 cm per hour. Reduced visibility at times in heavy snow. Strong northwesterly winds gusting up to 70 km/h Monday night. Timing: Late Monday morning through Monday afternoon for the initial band of heavy snow. Monday evening through Monday night for the lake effect flurries, strong winds and local blowing snow. Discussion: An area of heavy snow will push through the region Monday. The majority of snow will fall within a few hours. By Monday evening, strong northwesterly winds gusting up to 70 km/h and lake effect flurries will develop, resulting in reduced visibility at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Winds and flurries will weaken early Tuesday morning. ### Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly.
