3:38 PM CST Thursday 27 June 2024 Rainfall Warning in effect for: R.M. of Rosthern including Rosthern Hague and Carlton Heavy rain beginning late this afternoon and continuing through the day on Friday. Periods of rain will begin late afternoon impacting portions of southern Saskatchewan. General rainfall amounts will total 40 to 60 mm, but in addition to the relatively steady rain, some locations will receive heavier bursts of rainfall due to embedded convection. Any locations impacted by these quicker impulses of rain could see local rainfall totals in excess of 80 mm by the time the system departs. Strong easterly winds will also accompany the rain, with gusts to 70 or 80 km/h expected late today through Friday. Conditions will improve as the system pulls out of the area Friday night. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Heavy rainfall in combination with other weather factors, such as hail, wind and lightning will make outdoor activities unsafe.
