| Detailed Description | 4:28 PM NDT Thursday 1 August 2024 Heat Warning in effect for: Green Bay - White Bay Hot and humid weather continues. Time span: ending tonight. Locations: central, northeastern, and eastern Newfoundland. Extreme heat can affect everyone?s health. Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions. Reduce your heat risk. Schedule outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day. Limit direct sun exposure. Shade yourself by wearing a wide-brimmed, breathable hat and/or an umbrella. Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
