10:10 AM PDT Monday 23 September 2024 Rainfall Warning in effect for: Bulkley Valley Rain, at times heavy, is expected. Where: Between Smithers and Kitwanga When: Today and tonight. Rainfall amounts: 50 mm. Hazards: -Reduced visibility in heavy rain. -Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Remarks: A strong storm system approaching the North Coast of British Columbia is bringing heavy rain to the region. The heaviest rainfall totals are expected for communities along Highway 16 from Kitwanga to Smithers where 50 mm of rain is forecast by Tuesday morning. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
