| Detailed Description | 10:34 AM MDT Wednesday 24 July 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: Westlock Co. near Westlock and Clyde Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Thunderstorms have developed. Some of these thunderstorms will become severe this morning. The risk of severe thunderstorms will last until late in the evening. This watch will likely be expanded as the situation develops. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
