Brief Description SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH
Detailed Description 11:51 PM CDT Tuesday 20 August 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Pukatawagan At 11:51 PM CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, nickel to ping pong ball size hail and heavy rain. Severe thunderstorms continue to track northeast from Saskatchewan into northern Manitoba. The strongest storms will pose a risk of large hail and locally damaging wind gusts. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall. Watches 8:23 PM CDT Tuesday 20 August 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: Pukatawagan Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Time span: Tuesday evening into Tuesday night. Summary: Thunderstorms continue track eastward from Saskatchewan towards the watch area. The strongest storms will pose a risk of large hail and locally damaging wind gusts. Thunderstorm activity will persist into the overnight hours and may continue into Wednesday morning. Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
