| Detailed Description | 6:38 PM MDT Tuesday 11 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Wheatland Co. near Hwys 569 and 848 Wheatland Co. near Rockyford and Rosebud S.A. 2 near Finnegan and Little Fish Lake Prov. Park Starland Co. near Rumsey and Rowley Town of Drumheller Starland Co. near Michichi and Delia Kneehill Co. near Three Hills Kneehill Co. near Trochu and Huxley Rocky View Co. near Irricana Beiseker and Kathyrn Starland Co. near Morrin and Munson Kneehill Co. near Acme and Linden Kneehill Co. near Carbon At 6:37 PM MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain. This line of storms is located from north of Edmonton to east of Calgary and is moving 50 km/h to the east. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall. Watches 5:45 PM MDT Tuesday 11 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: Drumheller - Three Hills Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and large hail. Severe thunderstorms are expected early this evening. Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road.
