Brief Description Flood Advisory
Detailed Description The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Flood Advisory for the following rivers in Oklahoma. Cimarron River near Ripley affecting Payne County. * WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE. Cimarron River near Ripley. * WHEN. From this afternoon to early Monday morning. * IMPACTS. At 16.0 feet, Expect the Cimarron River to reach bankfull levels through Payne County. Small areas of agricultural land and oil wells located near the channel are isolated by water in cutoff channels along the river valley. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 1:00 PM CST Thursday the stage was 10.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 17.0 feet. - Forecast. The Cimarron River is expected to rise to a crest of 16.0 feet early Sunday afternoon. - Action stage is 16.0 feet. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
