| Detailed Description | 2:41 PM CDT Friday 31 May 2024 Freezing Rain Warning in effect for: Chesterfield Inlet Freezing rain continues in the Rankin Inlet and Chesterfield Inlet regions. Freezing rain will continue in Chesterfield Inlet into the evening hours, then transition to snow for the rest of the night. In Rankin Inlet, a mix of freezing rain and rain will continue into the overnight period, then transition to freezing rain early Saturday morning. The organized precipitation will taper off through the day on Saturday. Utility outages may occur. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
