Locations: southeastern Labrador and the Eagle River portion of the Trans Labrador Highway. Freezing rain amounts: 10 mm, except 25 mm or more over higher terrain. Time span: continuing until Saturday morning. Remarks: Precipitation will begin as snow over some areas before transitioning to freezing rain. Freezing rain may mix with ice pellets at times. Similar storms in the past have caused: - adverse driving conditions - damage to trees and power lines, resulting in utility outages - disruptions and delays to road and air transportation Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
