| Detailed Description | 5:41 AM MDT Friday 24 May 2024 Winter Storm Warning in effect for: South Delta Region including Ft. McPherson - Tsiigehtchic A spring storm will bring freezing rain and heavy snow to western parts of the Mackenzie Delta today and tonight. Freezing rain or wet snow will begin this morning and will change to snow during the day. Total snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 cm are expected before the snow tapers off Saturday morning. Snowfall amounts will be lower near Tsiigehtchic where rain is likely during the day Friday. Surfaces such as roads and walkways may become icy and slippery. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Winter storm warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.
