| Detailed Description | 9:40 PM ADT Thursday 25 April 2024 Blowing Snow Advisory in effect for: Postville - Makkovik Poor visibility in snow and blowing snow is expected or occurring in some locations. Total snowfall: 10 to 20 cm Maximum wind gust: northwesterly 70 km/h. Time span: continuing until early Friday morning. Location: Postville to Makkovik. Remarks: Strong northwesterly winds and cold temperatures will cause reduced visibility in snow and blowing snow tonight, especially over coastal areas that are more exposed. Visibility should begin to improve overnight as the winds begin to diminish. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Blowing snow advisories are issued when winds are expected to create blowing snow giving poor visibility to 800 metres or less for at least 3 hours.
