5:35 AM ADT Sunday 7 July 2024 Heat Warning in effect for: Upper Lake Melville An extended period of very warm to hot weather is expected. Time span: today through Tuesday. Maximum daytime temperatures: 28 to 30 degrees Celsius. Minimum overnight temperatures: 16 to 18 degrees Celsius. Locations: Upper Lake Melville area. Remarks: Very high temperatures will dominate for the next couple of days. The warmest conditions are expected to occur on Monday. Temperatures are forecast to turn cooler over all areas on Tuesday night. Extreme heat can affect everyone?s health. The health risks are greater for older adults, infants and young children, pregnant people, people with physical and/or mental illnesses, and people with disabilities or mobility issues. Drink plenty of water regularly, even before you feel thirsty to decrease your risk of dehydration. Thirst is not a good indicator of dehydration. Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
