5:34 PM EDT Wednesday 5 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Chatham-Kent - Rondeau Park At 5:34 PM EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain. This line of severe thunderstorms is located from 20 kilometres west of Tobermory to 25 kilometres west of Point Farms Provincial Park to 11 kilometres south of Oil Springs to 35 kilometres southeast of Point Pelee National Park, moving northeast at 65 km/h. Hazards: Up to 100 km/h wind gusts possible. Nickel size hail. Heavy rain with local amounts up to 50 mm possible. Locations impacted include: Goderich, Tobermory, Kincardine, Grand Bend, Parkhill, Rodney, Strathroy, Exeter, Port Elgin, Wingham, Blenheim, Rondeau Provincial Park, Ridgetown, Watford, Lambton Shores, The Pinery Provincial Park, Point Clark, Point Farms Provincial Park, Port Albert and Fathom Five National Marine Park. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles.
