Brief Description Flash Flood Watch
Detailed Description Thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall may produce flash flooding especially burn scars in Okanogan county this afternoon and evening. . Lost and Methow Rivers expected to peak Friday potentially threatening the Lost River Community. .Thunderstorms will develop this afternoon across Okanogan county. Thunderstorms will be slow moving producing heavy rainfall with the potential for flash flooding especially on burn scars. Meanwhile water levels are rising again on the Methow and Lost Rivers. At this time, it looks like levels on the Methow will peak on Friday close to the peak that compromised the earthened berm protecting portions of the Lost Creek Community. If the berm fails, flood water may quickly inundate homes and property in low lying areas along Harris Road, Misty Circle, Buck Circle, and Mercer Road. . FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING. The Flash Flood Watch continues for * For all of Okanogan County today. A portion of Okanogan county on Friday. * Thunderstorms today will be capable of producing flash flooding for all of Okanogan County especially burn scars. The Lost Lake community remains under a flash flood watch through Friday evening. * The Methow River is expected to crest on Friday. Levels on the Methow have the potential to be comparable to the peak that compromised the earthened berm protecting portions of the Lost Creek Community last week. If further damage occurs to the earthen berm, water could rapidly inundate homes and properties along Harris road, Misty Circle, Buck Circle, and Mercer Road.
