2:37 AM ADT Thursday 15 August 2024 Rainfall Warning in effect for: Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County Total rainfall amount: near 50 mm. Locations: parts of the Atlantic coast near Louisbourg. Time frame: tonight. Remarks: A narrow line of heavy showers is remaining nearly stationary over the southeasternmost portions of Cape Breton County in the vicinity of Louisbourg. Little change in this band of showers is expected over the next few hours. Rainfall rates near 20 mm/h have been observed and could continue for the next couple of hours. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
