| Detailed Description | 4:54 AM ADT Wednesday 17 July 2024 Heat Warning in effect for: Prince County P.E.I. A period of very warm and humid weather continues. Time span: continuing today and possibly into Thursday. Maximum daytime temperature: 28 degrees Celsius (Humidex 36). Minimum overnight temperatures: 18 to 20 degrees Celsius. Locations: Prince Edward Island. Remarks: Cooler conditions can be expected along parts of the coast. Conditions are expected to cool on Friday. Extreme heat can affect everyone?s health. The health risks are greater for older adults, infants and young children, pregnant people, people with physical and/or mental illnesses, and people with disabilities or mobility issues. Reduce your heat risk. Schedule outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day. Limit direct sun exposure. Shade yourself by wearing a wide-brimmed, breathable hat and/or an umbrella. Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
