Flood Watch
Detailed Description
Repeated rounds of thunderstorms tonight into Saturday morning have potential to produce areas of flash flooding. * WHAT. Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE. Portions of east central and southeast New Mexico, including the following areas, in east central New Mexico, Curry County and Roosevelt County. In southeast New Mexico, Chaves County Plains. * WHEN. Until 9 AM MDT Saturday. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Widespread 1 to 3 inch rainfall totals are expected, with isolated amounts of 3 to 5 inches possible. There will be potential for areas of flash flooding and lowland flooding, especially in vulnerable areas of Chaves County. Rises are also possible on main stem rivers including the Pecos River. - https://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
