Detailed Description |
* WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE. A portion of central South Carolina, including the following counties, Fairfield, Lexington, Newberry and Richland. * WHEN. Until midnight EDT tonight. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 1041 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Columbia, Lexington, West Columbia, Cayce, Irmo, Forest Acres, Batesburg-Leesville, Springdale, Highway 6 at Lake Murray Dam, Red Bank, Oak Grove, St. Andrews, Dentsville, South Congaree, Pine Ridge, Gaston, Arcadia Lakes, Ballentine, Harbison State Forest and Columbia Metro Airport. - This includes the following highways. Interstate 126 between mile markers 0 and 3. Interstate 26 between mile markers 89 and 119. Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 38 and 74.
