Detailed Description The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Virginia. Nottoway River Near Stony Creek affecting Sussex and Greensville Counties. For the Chowan Basin. including Franklin at US Highway 58/258, Rawlings, Stony Creek, Sebrell, Lawrenceville, Emporia, Franklin. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT. Flooding will continue along the Nottoway River from Stony Creek downstream to Route 40 in central Sussex County. * WHERE. Nottoway River near Stony Creek. * WHEN. Until late this evening. * IMPACTS. Flooding of lowlands along the Nottoway River from Stony Creek downstream to Route 40 in central Sussex County. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 7:30 AM EDT Friday the stage was 14.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 13.0 feet. - Forecast. The river level will slowly fall through late this evening. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. - Flood History. This crest compares to a previous crest of 15.0 feet on 12/15/2008. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
