| Detailed Description | The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Minnesota. Cottonwood River at New Ulm affecting Brown County. Cottonwood River Above Springfield affecting Brown County. South Fork Crow River at Delano affecting Hennepin and Wright Counties. Cannon River at Northfield affecting Rice and Dakota Counties. . The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Minnesota River at Mankato affecting Nicollet and Blue Earth Counties. Minnesota River at New Ulm affecting Brown, Nicollet and Blue Earth Counties. Minnesota River at Savage affecting Carver, Scott, Hennepin and Dakota Counties. Minnesota River at Henderson MN19 affecting Le Sueur, Sibley and Scott Counties. Minnesota River near Jordan affecting Carver, Sibley and Scott Counties. Minnesota River at Morton affecting Renville and Redwood Counties. South Fork Crow River below Mayer affecting Carver County. Crow River at Rockford affecting Hennepin and Wright Counties. Mississippi River at St. Paul affecting Washington, Ramsey and Dakota Counties. Mississippi River near Hastings L/D 2 (COE) affecting Washington, Dakota and Pierce Counties. Middle Fork Zumbro River at Pine Island 1S affecting Dodge and Goodhue Counties. Redwood River near Redwood Falls affecting Redwood County. .Flood impacts will continue to increase along the major rivers this week. There is a slight chance for thunderstorms and heavy rain tomorrow evening, but strong capping in the atmosphere means most areas will stay dry. Another 1 to 2 inches of rain may fall with any thunderstorms that develop, with the best chance for this happening across northeast Minnesota & northwest Wisconsin. More widespread rain continues to look possible Thursday night into Friday. The forecast rainfall amounts with this system will be captured in the river forecasts that are issued Wednesday night and Thursday morning. * WHAT. Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Redwood River near Redwood Falls. * WHEN. Until further notice. * IMPACTS. At 8.5 feet, Swayback bridge in Redwood Falls overtopped. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 700 PM CDT Sunday, the stage was 7.7 feet. - Recent Activity. The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 700 PM CDT Sunday was 7.8 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to rise to a crest of 9.5 feet Wednesday morning. It will then fall below flood stage Sunday, June 30. - Flood stage is 6.0 feet. - Flood History. This crest compares to a previous crest of 9.5 feet on 04/26/2018. |
