Brief Description SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
Detailed Description 4:20 AM ADT Saturday 7 September 2024 Special Weather Statement in effect for: Antigonish County Significant rainfall continues. Total rainfall: 30 to 50 mm. Locally higher amounts possible. Maximum wind gusts: southeasterly 60 to 80 km/h. Locations: central and eastern Nova Scotia. Time span: continuing today and into tonight. Similar storms in the past: - hazardous driving conditions - delays and cancellations of ferry services - local utility outages Remarks: An area of low pressure containing tropical moisture may bring significant rainfall to the area. General amounts of 30 to 50 mm is forecast today, but higher amounts are possible in localized downpours. In addition to the rain, gusty winds Saturday could lead to local utility outages.
