Total rainfall: 40 to 80 mm, with locally higher amounts possible. Rainfall rates: 25 to 35 mm/hr. Time span: this morning until early afternoon. Remarks: A series of thundershowers gave 40 millimetres of rain in a few hours to the region and more rain and thundershowers are expected this morning as additional thundershowers are moving up the Bay of Fundy towards the Minas Basin. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected. Rainfall rates: 20 to 30 mm/h. Locations: Cumberland and northern Colchester counties. Time span: this morning. Remarks: Heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms over the region are tracking east. Localized torrential rainfall is possible with these thunderstorms. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year.
