| Detailed Description | 5:41 PM PDT Monday 23 September 2024 Rainfall Warning in effect for: North Coast - inland including Kitimat Rain, at times heavy, is expected. What: Rainfall amounts of 50 to 100 mm. When: Tonight. Where: Stewart, Gitwinksihlkw, New Aiyansh, Terrace, portions of Highway 16, Kitimat, Highway 37. Remarks: A strong storm system will continue to give heavy rain to the north coast of British Columbia tonight. Rainfall amounts will be greater as you head westwards towards the coast. Rain will end from north to south, tapering off in the Stewart region late this evening and persisting through the overnight for areas near Kitimat and south of Kitimat. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
