Brief Description Flood Watch
Detailed Description * WHAT. Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE. Areas along and east of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Central Highlands and South-Central Mountains to the Texas border. * WHEN. Through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Abundant moisture combined with strong forcing from a storm system over AZ moving over NM tonight will produce lines of strong thunderstorms that will train over the same areas repeatedly this afternoon through Sunday morning. Widespread rainfall amounts totaling 2 to 4 inches in the watch area with locally higher amounts up to 6 inches over parts of northeastern NM will threaten flash flooding. This includes the Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon and Ruidoso burn scars. Large areas of standing water and noteworthy rises on creeks and rivers are possible by Sunday morning. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
