Brief Description SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH
Detailed Description 3:28 PM CST Thursday 12 September 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: R.M. of Estevan including Estevan and Hitchcock Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Locations: Portions of southeastern Saskatchewan. Time span: Thursday evening through to midnight. Summary: Thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon over northeastern Montana and will track northeast towards the watch area this evening. The primary threats include isolated damaging winds and large hail. Thunderstorms will continue to track northeast through the night. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
