| Detailed Description | The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Minnesota. Cottonwood River at New Ulm affecting Brown County. Cottonwood River Above Springfield affecting Brown County. Minnesota River at Mankato affecting Blue Earth and Nicollet Counties. Minnesota River at New Ulm affecting Blue Earth, Brown and Nicollet Counties. Minnesota River at Morton affecting Renville and Redwood Counties. Redwood River near Redwood Falls affecting Redwood County. . The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Minnesota River at Montevideo affecting Yellow Medicine, Lac qui Parle and Chippewa Counties. South Fork Crow River at Delano affecting Wright and Hennepin Counties. Crow River at Rockford affecting Wright and Hennepin Counties. Mississippi River at Red Wing L/D 3 affecting Goodhue and Pierce Counties. Mississippi River at St. Paul affecting Washington, Dakota and Ramsey Counties. St Croix River at Stillwater affecting Washington, St. Croix and Pierce Counties. Cannon River at Northfield affecting Dakota and Rice Counties. Minnesota River at Savage affecting Dakota, Scott, Hennepin and Carver Counties. Minnesota River at Henderson MN19 affecting Sibley, Scott and Le Sueur Counties. Minnesota River near Jordan affecting Sibley, Scott and Carver Counties. South Fork Crow River below Mayer affecting Carver County. Mississippi River at Red Wing affecting Goodhue, Pierce and Pepin Counties. Mississippi River near Hastings L/D 2 (COE) affecting Washington, Dakota and Pierce Counties. .While the short term forecast is optimistic due to a lack of precipitation over the next 36-48 hours, widespread additional rainfall is expected to cause yet another surge in river levels by the end of next week. First major round of rainfall arrives Monday into Tuesday and will start being captured in forecasts tomorrow. * WHAT. Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Minnesota River at Savage. * WHEN. Until further notice. * IMPACTS. At 715.0 feet, Flood waters begin flooding the east bound lane of Highway 101 near the intersection with Highway 13. Flood waters also impact the north bound lanes of Interstate 35W. Port Cargill builds additional protection. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 900 PM CDT Saturday, the stage was 714.2 feet. - Recent Activity. The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 900 PM CDT Saturday was 714.3 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to fall to 707.1 feet Saturday, July 06. - Flood stage is 702.0 feet. - Flood History. This crest compares to a previous crest of 714.2 feet on 04/16/1952. |
