Brief Description SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
Detailed Description 6:40 PM EDT Wednesday 17 April 2024 Special Weather Statement in effect for: City of Thunder Bay Significant rainfall continues tonight into Thursday. Hazard: Additional 5 to 10 mm of rain, giving totals up to 30 mm. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall. Timing: Continuing through early Thursday. Discussion: A Colorado Low is forecast to bring widespread rainfall. Ponding and pooling of water in low lying areas is possible. Snow may also mix in with the rain at times as the temperature drops toward the freezing mark. For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office. Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details.
