10:32 AM ADT Thursday 25 April 2024 Blowing Snow Advisory in effect for: Postville - Makkovik Poor visibility in snow and blowing snow is expected or occurring in some locations. Total snowfall: 10 to 20 cm Maximum wind gust: northwesterly 70 km/h. Time span: this evening to early Friday morning. Location: Postville to Makkovik. Remarks: Winds will increase out of the northwest this evening in conjunction with falling temperature causing reduced visibility in snow and blowing snow, especially over coastal areas that are more exposed. Visibility should begin to improve overnight tonight as the winds begin to diminish. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Blowing snow advisories are issued when winds are expected to create blowing snow giving poor visibility to 800 metres or less for at least 3 hours.
