Brief Description Red Flag Warning
Detailed Description RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM PST WEDNESDAY ACROSS VENTURA COUNTY, LOS ANGELES COUNTY MOUNTAINS, SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, AND SANTA CLARITA VALLEY DUE TO GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS AND VERY LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY. . RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM PST TUESDAY ACROSS THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY COAST FROM MALIBU TO HOLLYWOOD HILLS AND SAN GABRIEL VALLEY DUE TO GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS AND VERY LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY. .Moderate Santa Ana winds combined with single digit humidities will continue to bring VERY CRITICAL fire weather conditions across much of Los Angeles and Ventura counties through the day. Northeast wind gusts of 40 to 55 mph will be common across wind favored areas. Tonight and Wednesday, the offshore winds are expected to decrease but gusts will remain in the 25 to 40 mph range. This has resulted in the extension of the Red Flag Warning for Ventura County, the Los Angeles County Mountains, Santa Monica Mountains, Santa Clarita Valley, and San Fernando Valley through 5 pm Wednesday. Winds are expected to be weaker across the Los Angeles County coast and San Gabriel Valley, therefore, the Red Flag Warning will remain in effect through 5 pm today for these areas. There will be the potential for very rapid fire spread, long range spotting, and extreme fire behavior with the Woolsey Fire and any new fire ignitions. . RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM PST WEDNESDAY FOR GUSTY NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS AND VERY LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE MOUNTAINS OF LOS ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTIES. * Winds. Northeast winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts 45 to to 55 mph through early afternoon, diminishing to 15 to 25 mph with gusts 35 to 40 mph tonight into Wednesday. * Relative Humidity. Minimum humidities will fall to 3 to 10 percent each day, with very poor overnight recoveries. * Impacts. If fire ignition occurs, conditions will be favorable for very rapid fire spread and extreme fire behavior, including long range spotting, which would threaten life and property.
