Brief Description Flood Advisory
Detailed Description * WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE. Chester Creek. * WHEN. Until 645 AM AKDT Sunday. * IMPACTS. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 946 PM AKDT, river gauge reports indicate rises in water levels for Chester Creek from moderate to heavy rain across the Anchorage Bowl. Minor flooding is ongoing, especially along Chester Creek where river levels have reached Minor Flood Stage. - For Chester Creek at Arctic Blvd: At 9:30pm the stage was 4.32 feet. Flood Stage is 4.0 feet. Forecast: A crest around 4.5 feet is expected around 11:00 pm Saturday. Impacts: At 4.0 feet: Portions of the Chester Creek Bike Path will get inundated, especially beneath the C St Bridge - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood - If you live near or along Chester Creek, stay alert and be prepared to take action.
