Brief Description SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
Detailed Description 11:42 AM EDT Wednesday 5 June 2024 Special Weather Statement in effect for: Lanaudière The warm airmass covering Southern Quebec since the last few days will persist until Thursday morning. Maximum temperatures will range from 30 to 32 degrees Celsius with Humidex values reaching between 35 and 38 on Wednesday. The heat will persist overnight Wednesday night; minimum temperatures hovering near 20 degrees Celsius will offer little relief. Later on, a low pressure system could produce 30 to 50 millimetres of rain over these areas on Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will return to near seasonal values beginning on Friday. Heat can affect everyone''s health. Drink plenty of water regularly, even before feeling thirsty, to reduce your risk of dehydration. Thirst is not a good indicator of dehydration. Reduce your heat risk. Schedule outdoor activities during the coolest hours of the day. If you are in an overheated location, look for a cool place, such as the shade of trees, a water fountain with splash pad, a cooling station, or an air-conditioned facility like a public building.
