* WHAT. Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Ogeechee River near Eden. * WHEN. Until further notice. * IMPACTS. At 16.0 feet, water approaches portions of Old Jenks Turnpike. Water enters a few homes near the river. A few feet of water will also surround a few homes on Harvey Road in the Bloomingdale area. These homes will likely only be accessible by boat. Major flooding will occur along the entire stretch of the Ogeechee River from around Oliver to Meldrim and the Bloomingdale area. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 945 PM EDT Sunday, the stage was 16.5 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to fall to 12.3 feet Friday evening. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
