Brief Description SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
Detailed Description 6:23 PM CDT Tuesday 30 July 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Island Lake At 6:23 PM CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, nickel to ping pong ball size hail and heavy rain. This line extends from Cotton Lake southeast to the Ontario border and is moving east at 30 km/h. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
