Brief Description Flood Warning
Detailed Description Updated forecast reducing expected peak, but flooding still expected. * WHAT. Major Flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Along Pit River in NW Lassen County including Big Valley, Bieber, and Nubieber. * WHEN. Until noon PST Thursday. * IMPACTS. Major highly impactful flooding from the Pit river and tributaries are expected to impact NW. Lassen County. Inundation and damage to roads, agricultural areas, and low lying homes and structures in Big valley including Bieber and Nubieber. The current forecast peaks at a similar level to the February 2017 flood event. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 339 PM PST, Major flooding is forecasted by the California River Forecast Center. - The Pit River near Canby is forecast to peak above major flood stage late Tuesday into Wednesday. Flood flows from the Pit river will be joined by numerous tributaries below the Canby gage. These tributaries may lead to flooding impacts in advance of the peak flooding from the Pit River. Flood prone structures in Bieber and New Bieber, should prepare now. Check cnrfc.noaa.gov for updated river forecasts. The CNRFC will transition into 24 hour coverage today through Tuesday evening. River forecasts will be updated 4 times per by 9am, 3pm, 9pm, and 3am. - Some locations that will experience flooding include. Nubieber, Bieber, Pittville and Ca 299 At Shasta-Lassen Co Line - The Pit River near Canby is forecast to peak above major flood stage late Tuesday into Wednesday. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
