7:19 PM EDT Wednesday 4 September 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Fort Hope - Lansdowne House - Ogoki At 7:19 PM EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to toonie size hail and heavy rain. This line of severe thunderstorms is located from 8 kilometres east of Streatfeild Lake to 40 kilometres east of Eabamet Lake, moving east at 80 km/h. Hazard: 90 km/h wind gusts and nickel size hail. Locations impacted include: Ogoki, Wabimeig Lake and Napken Lake. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.
