Brief Description SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH
Detailed Description 6:18 PM EDT Sunday 23 June 2024 Rainfall Warning in effect for: Metro Montréal - Laval Rain, at times heavy, is expected. Another 20 to 30 millimetres of rain is expected into Monday. Higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. Watches 6:01 PM EDT Sunday 23 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: Metro Montréal - Laval Conditions this evening are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Heavy downpours are likely to cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Water-related activities may be unsafe due to violent and sudden gusts of wind over bodies of water. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
