7:37 AM ADT Thursday 18 July 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: Sussex - Kennebecasis Valley and Kings County Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain. Rainfall rates: 15 to 25 mm/h, except possibly higher in thunderstorms. Locations: Sussex, Grand Lake and Queens, Moncton, Kent and Kouchibouguac Counties. Time span: this morning. Remarks: Heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms over central parts of the province are tracking eastward this morning. Localized torrential rainfall may occur with some of the thunderstorms. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
