Brief Description SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
Detailed Description 2:31 AM EDT Tuesday 27 August 2024 Special Weather Statement in effect for: Gogama - Foleyet Periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to bring the potential for significant rainfall today. Hazards: Local total rainfall amounts up to 60 mm possible. Rainfall rates of 30 to 50 mm per hour possible. Timing: This morning into this afternoon. Discussion: Multiple rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to spread across the region on today. Rainfall warnings may be required and issued with short notice to reflect the rapidly changing conditions. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office. Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details.
