The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has issued the following. WHAT. Air Quality Health Advisory for Multiple Pollutants. WHERE. southeastern Larimer County. Locations include, but are not limited to Loveland. WHEN. 1000 PM Monday July 29 to 900 AM Tuesday July 30 IMPACTS. Heavy smoke from the Alexander Mountain fire is possible through at least Tuesday morning for the advisory area. Most of the smoke will remain aloft through Monday evening, but brief periods of moderate to heavy smoke will be possible downwind of the fire in Loveland, Windsor, Severance, and southern parts of the Ft. Collins area. Heavier smoke will be possible overnight Monday night into early Tuesday morning for locations below the fire on State Highway 34 and eastward into Loveland. Additionally, elevated ozone levels will be possible throughout the advisory area Monday afternoon and early evening. HEALTH INFORMATION. Public Health Recommendations: If smoke is thick or becomes thick in your neighborhood you may want to remain indoors. This is especially true for those with heart disease, respiratory illnesses, the very young, and older adults. Consider limiting outdoor activity when moderate to heavy smoke is present. Consider relocating temporarily if smoke is present indoors and is making you ill. If visibility is less than 5 miles in smoke in your neighborhood, smoke has reached levels that are unhealthy.
