These winds will begin to weaken by Friday evening. Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Motorists, especially in high profile vehicles, may expect hazardous driving conditions on highways subject to strong cross winds. Avoid wooded areas to prevent injury from falling trees or branches. The heaviest rainfall amounts will be in areas where embedded thunderstorms occur. Heavy rain will taper off by Saturday morning. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
