| Detailed Description | * LOCATION. Kuskokwim Delta coast. * COASTAL FLOODING. Water levels as high as 3 to 6 feet above normal highest tide are expected, with locally higher water levels possible. * TIMING. Water levels will rise by Sunday afternoon and remain elevated through Tuesday afternoon/evening. The timing of peak water levels will vary by community, but many will see their highest water levels from Monday afternoon through early Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS. This event could be similar to the August 17-18, 2024 flood event. Southwesterly to westerly winds will cause higher seas and surf, contributing to erosion and flooding along the coast. |
