Potential rainfall rates: 25 mm per hour or higher. Locations: southern New Brunswick. Time span: continuing until this evening. Remarks: Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop over portions of southern New Brunswick today. Localized torrential downpours are possible with these thunderstorms. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall. Locations: Moncton and southern New Brunswick. Remarks: A weather system feeding on moisture from remnants of Beryl will continue to affect southern New Brunswick this afternoon. Conditions may change rapidly over short distances, with heavy, torrential downpours possible.
