Brief Description Severe Thunderstorm Warning
Detailed Description At 12:22 p.m. ADT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain. Maximum rainfall rates: locally 20 to 40 mm per hour in thunderstorms. Maximum wind gusts: 70 to 90 km/h. Locations in the path include: Bairdsville, Upper Kent, Aroostook, Perth-Andover. Time span: continuing until later this afternoon. Remarks: A cluster of strong thunderstorms possibly producing large hail, strong wind gusts and torrential downpours are crossing the Maine/New Brunswick border between Grand Falls and Upper Kent and are moving northeast at 50 km/h. ### Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
