Brief Description	Flood Watch
Detailed Description	Heavy rainfall has fallen across the area with 3 to 8 inches over the past 72 hrs, another 1 to 2 will fall through Monday evening. Rivers are rising or are already high, and the threat of flooding of small streams is still possible. There is also very high freezing levels that is adding to the runoff into our glacier systems. Rivers are already starting higher and soils have become saturated due to the most recent heavy rains. Expect to see rapid rises on small streams through Monday evening. * WHAT. Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE. The following area, Central Inner Channels. This includes the city of Juneau. * WHEN. Until 10 PM AKDT this evening. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, other low-lying areas and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - The area has seen 3 to 8 inches of rain over the past 72hrs with the highest amounts over the mountains. The atmospheric river will persist through Monday evening to produce another 1 to 2 inches before the heavy rain moves east of the area. Temperatures aloft will continue to be warm with freezing levels near 12000 feet, this time will lead to increased snow and ice melt into our glacier feed rivers. The timing of heaviest rain is expected to be through Monday afternoon. There is still a potential for the heavy rain to continue into Monday evening. Stream flows will rise rapidly on the small streams and could make for hazardous conditions in places for kayakers and rafters. Please refer to the flood advisory for Montana and Jordon Creeks. For the Mendenhall Lake/River, the rise in the water levels are from the recent rainfall and snow/ice melt. The water will continue to rise with a potential for flooding from the runoff by Monday afternoon. This water rise is not from Suicide Basin and is not a glacial lake outburst flood. - If you live near or along Mendenhall Lake/River stay alert and be prepared to take action.
