2:11 PM PDT Tuesday 11 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: Stuart - Nechako At 2:11 PM PDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking an area of severe thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rain. This area of severe thunderstorms is located 20 km west of Prince George. It is moving northward at 30 km/h. Due to the slow moving nature of the storm, local rainfall amount can exceed 25 mm after the storms have passed. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
