Brief Description Coastal Flood Advisory
Detailed Description * WHAT. Minor coastal flooding expected with water levels of 4 to 8 feet above the normal high tideline. * WHERE. Eastern Norton Sound including Elim, Shaktoolik, Koyuk, and Unalakleet. * WHEN. From 6 AM Wednesday to 6 AM AKDT Thursday. * IMPACTS. Breaking waves will wash up on the beach and cause siginifcant erosion in eastern Norton Sound. Structures close to the shoreline such as fish camps may be impacted by breaking waves, especially at Moses Point near Elim. At Shaktoolik, salt water intrusion may impact the community fresh water intake. Near Unalakleet, water will approach the backside of the AC Store. Water will back up the Unalakleet River and impact low- lying areas.
