| Detailed Description | * WHAT. For the rip current statement, life-threatening rip currents due to increasing breaking waves. For the High Surf, large breaking waves around 17 feet. * WHERE. Beaches across the north central and northwestern Puerto Rico. * WHEN. From this evening through late Wednesday night. . * IMPACTS. Rip currents that can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water where it becomes difficult to return to safety. High waves that can wash over jetties and sweep people and pets onto jagged rocks. Rough surf may also knock you down. Large breaking waves will result in localized beach/dune structure erosion and dangerous swimming conditions. |
