Detailed Description The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Illinois. Indiana. Des Plaines River near Gurnee affecting Lake IL County. Kankakee River at Shelby affecting Newton and Lake IN Counties. . The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Illinois. Des Plaines River near Russell affecting Lake IL County. For the Des Plaines River. including Russell, Gurnee. Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT. Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE. Des Plaines River from US-41 in Gurnee downstream to Townline Road in Vernon Hills, including the Gurnee gauge. * WHEN. Until early Monday morning. * IMPACTS. At 7.0 feet, Forest land inundated near the river in Gurnee. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 8:30 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 7.6 feet. - Recent Activity. The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 PM CDT Saturday was 7.7 feet. - Forecast. The river is expected to fall below flood stage Sunday evening. - Flood stage is 7.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
