11:52 AM CST Wednesday 12 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for: R.M. of Wolverine including Burr R.M. of Humboldt including Humboldt Carmel and Fulda R.M. of St Peter including Muenster and Lake Lenore R.M. of Leroy including Leroy At 11:52 AM CST, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing up to nickel size hail and heavy rain. This severe thunderstorm is located 6 kilometres south of Humboldt, moving east at 30 km/h. Hazard: Nickel size hail. A tornado is also possible. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall. Watches 10:54 AM CST Wednesday 12 June 2024 Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for: Humboldt - Wynyard - Wadena - Lanigan - Foam Lake Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail. Thunderstorms have developed over portions of southern Saskatchewan, and are expected to continue through to this evening. The main threats associated with these thunderstorms are large hail, however, an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!
